



Joy Byrd
Joy Byrd has always adored children granting them highest of places in her life. She has been a Mentor, successfully home schooling for the past 30 years. Joy has dedicated endless hours as a volunteer in the past 10 years to Church youth camps.
Her time is always spent focusing on what she can do to enrich and inspire education in a child's life. Due to the superb Suzuki education that she has as an accomplished Pianist and classical guitarist her gift of giving has been abundant in offering lessons pro-bono to underprivileged children within the community of Fuquay Varina. As Director of the Youth Ministry for the past 30 years at Wyclife Memorial Church, she has granted each and every child her gift of patience in teaching them that an education and the journey of learning is not only rewarding but also exciting. Joy is currently pursuing her Early Childhood Degree.
Joy Byrd and her two daughters Sarah and Virginia will teach our musical classes and will base the curriculum on the Suzuki Method.Samira Amra has dedicated the majority of her professional life to improving the early learning experiences of young children. Samira currently is in her third year of assisting teaching at Holly Grove Elementary in Wake County. She has had the opportunity to tutor children of all ages.
Her career as an educator spans the last twenty years. She has taught ESL in Brazil for ten years to children of all ages. She has been a Team Leader at summer camps for several summers. Samira grew up in Brazil and is passionate about learning different languages and cultures. Samira is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish and speaks some Arabic.
Outside of school, her family is the center of her life. She loves spending time with her husband. Together they have been blessed with three wonderful children. She also enjoys traveling the world and helping children in need. She is thrilled to be able to spread her knowledge. She has the experience and the imperative skills required but more importantly, she possesses the eagerness and passion needed with which to teach children.
Diana Goolsbey
Diana Goolsbey has always loved the arts. Her early training was at the Auburn School of Performing Arts, Rockford Il. She performed professionally with the Ice Capades tour 1985-1986 after years as a competitive figure skater. Though Diana loved performing, in 1989 she was invited to choreograph an ice show in Belgium that lead to a 20 year career as an international choreographer for dancers and dozens of world and Olympic figure skaters.
Working as an independent choreographer in both the United States and Europe, her work has not only been performed at a World level. She was co-choreographer in an HBO film production starring two time Olympic gold medalist Katarina Witt, and worked on many large scale group performances. It was in Germany while working as a choreographer, when Diana met her husband, German Olympic pair skater Mirko Mueller.
Together with her husband and young son, she has relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina and is thrilled to be part of our Camp MusArt team. Diana loves to choreograph new steps and have fun teaching children. She embraces the philosophy that all children have the right to dance with meaning and joy!
Sarah Byrd
Sarah Byrd was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has been home
schooled all her life. Through the loving guidance of acquiring knowledge as she is accustom, Sarah too has found reward in dedicating much of her time in enhancing children's lives through learning. She is understudy of Mr.William Kossler, Suzuki specialist and teacher. Playing the Suzuki Violin and Piano from the age of eight, Sarah developed a passion for music that she brings to every lesson that she now gives to children herself. Her gift of giving back continues with her hours of volunteering at the Wycliffe Memorial Church and other local churches in their early childcare programs as well as her time spent helping out at various church youth camps. With her three years of College French and as a current Senior in the Microbiology and Genetics Department at NCSU she will bring more than her share, offering science classes, French and Violin lessons to our track out campers.
Virginia Byrd
Virginia Byrd, born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1991, has been in the Suzuki program from the age of three. She is an understudy of Suzuki specialist and teacher Mr.William Kossler and Dr. Becky Lyman.
Being home schooled all of her life she has been brought up understanding that an enriching environment is vital for a quality education.
Virginia has started her study for her Early Childhood Education Degree.
Virginia, like her sister, has assisted the early childhood programs at the Wycliffe Memorial Church and in several church youth camps.
Virginia is teaching Suzuki Cello and Guitar.
Jandy
Jandy is a native of South Louisiana. A true Cajun where she got her first introduction to face painting. Her artistic talent was evident early in life and as she developed her skill face painting came natural.
Since 2001 Jandy runs her own successful face painting business and has established her name as a synonym for fantastic pieces of art on children's faces.
Camp MusArt is thrilled to have Jandy come in every week and provide our students with the most amazing tranformations of their little faces.
Jandy uses only the safest and best paint products.
